Ashley House provides compassionate care for medically fragile and technology-dependent children. Nursing, personal care and social services are provided by highly trained staff in small group home settings. Ashley House provides a “home away from home” environment for the children and their families while delivering complex medical care and family support.
Ashley House serves children from birth to 18 years of age. All of the homes have a mix of age and gender of children. Acuity level and individualized needs are considered for placement, as well as proximity to family members and medical support systems.
Most children admitted to Ashley House will meet one or more of the following criteria:

- Twenty-four hour nursing care in a home-like setting. All care and treatment is under a doctor’s orders.
- Social work services and family support.
- Transportation to and from Doctor’s appointments.
- Training for the family so the family will be able to provide medical care for their child at home.
- Discharge planning to continue progressive recovery and transition to home.
- Physical, occupational and speech therapy to fit the unique needs of the child.
- Counseling for the child and family as needed.
- Education services through the school districts.

- Need at least six hours of nursing care in a 24 hour day.
- Need TPN or intravenous medication administration.
- Need mechanical ventilation or specialized respiratory equipment.
- Need frequent therapy for respiratory problems and infection.
- Need peritoneal dialysis.
- Need pre- or postoperative care for an organ transplant.
- Need care for terminal illness.
- Apnea of prematurity
- Bronchopulmonary dysplasia
- Short bowel syndrome
- Traumatic brain or spinal cord injury or coma emergence
- Tracheostomy or mechanical ventilator dependent
- Complex wound or ostomy care
- Serious cardiac problems
- Chromosomal abnormalities
- Cancer
- Chronic renal insufficiency
